every service
has a code.
California gives a number to every type of service a regional center can fund. Once you know the codes, the system gets a lot easier to navigate. This guide explains the services in plain language, so you and your planning team can find what fits.
how service codes work
A code is just a label
The state assigns a number to each service type so regional centers can authorize and pay for it. ILS is 520. Coordinated Family Support is 076. The Self Determination Program has its own menu of codes in the 300s.
Your plan unlocks services
Services are written into your Individual Program Plan based on your goals and needs. If a service supports an IPP goal, your regional center may be able to fund it, even one nobody has thought of yet.
You never navigate alone
Your service coordinator can explain what is available in your area. The State Council on Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Clients Rights Advocacy can also answer questions. So can we.
explore the codes
Search by name, code number, or keyword. Filter by category or by who needs the service. This is a plain language summary, not a complete list, and offerings vary by regional center.
