bttr. bills through the participant's FMS and only what is approved, with session documentation available.

Adaptive Fitness Coaching is fitness instruction and participation support, not physical therapy, rehabilitation, or medical treatment. The Independent Facilitator and regional center confirm the final code for each service.

Can it be paid for through the Self Determination Program?

Yes. When Adaptive Fitness Coaching is part of the spending plan, bttr. bills through the participant's FMS, and only what is approved.

Is it physical therapy?

No. Adaptive Fitness Coaching is fitness instruction and participation support. It does not provide physical therapy, rehabilitation, or medical treatment.

Where do sessions take place?

At a community gym, pool, park, or fitness class. Home sessions may also be offered when the participant's plan authorizes the service in that setting.

What happens in a session?

Sessions may include adapted strength exercises, cardio, stretching, balance and coordination activities, or practice using fitness equipment. The participant helps choose the activities, and the trainer adapts each one to the participant's abilities and pace.

Who provides the service?

A certified fitness trainer matched by bttr. based on the participant's assessment, so every match is fully person centered. Every trainer is employed, trained, and supervised by bttr. and introduced before the first session.

How is progress documented?

Progress is documented around the participant's goals, such as attending a fitness class, following a preferred exercise routine, or becoming more comfortable using community fitness spaces.

Which regional centers does bttr. work with?

Can it be combined with other services?

Yes. Many plans combine services such as Tailored Day Services or Independent Living Skills. bttr. delivers them as one team, with one plan and one point of contact.
