bttr Living helps adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities build confidence using public transportation, navigating the community, and reaching real life destinations safely.
BART and public transit skills
Learn practical travel routines using BART, AC Transit, VTA, Muni, SamTrans, Caltrain, and local transportation systems throughout the Bay Area.
Community safety and awareness
Practice crossing streets safely, handling delays, identifying landmarks, using emergency contacts, understanding surroundings, and making safer choices in the community.
Real world independence
Build travel routines connected to real destinations including work, college, libraries, grocery stores, parks, medical appointments, volunteer opportunities, and social activities.

Person centered travel training for adults with developmental disabilities.
Some individuals need step by step support and repetition. Others need help building confidence, handling anxiety, improving executive functioning, or practicing one route at a time.

Travel training can support greater independence and community access goals.
Travel training may connect with Independent Living Services, Supported Living Services, Coordinated Family Support Services, or Self Determination Program goals depending on the participant’s IPP and approved services.
