What this page covers

  • Which programs exist
  • Why these services exist
  • How approvals work so you can start

Programs in plain language

Independent Living Services (ILS)

Coaching for daily living, safety, communication, travel, and community participation. Hours fit your goals and pace.

Supported Living Services (SLS)

Skill coaching for people who live on their own or plan to move out. Focus on routines at home, decisions, and safety.

Coordinated Family Support (CFS)

Support for adults who live with family. We align training, tools, and routines across the home to reduce stress and build skills.

Self Determination Program

Coaching to design a plan, set outcomes, and use your budget in a way that works for you. We keep the process simple.

Cost and funding

Are services free to families

Yes. If a person is eligible with a California Regional Center, approved services are funded by the state. There is no out of pocket cost for approved services.

How approval happens

You and your coordinator agree on goals and hours. The coordinator issues a Purchase of Service. We prepare a short message you can use and we follow up.

Eligibility and authorizations are determined by your Regional Center. Our advocacy aligns with the Lanterman Act and Title 17 regulations.

The first month builds connection, trust, and routine.
5
Review and adjust
We look at outcomes and adjust hours and plans with you.

Your first 90 days

Weeks 1 to 4

  • Relationship building and sensory aware coaching
  • Safety routines and early wins at home and in the community

Weeks 5 to 12

  • Expand skills based on goals and pace
  • Share progress in simple language and adjust hours if needed

The first phase can look like regular outings. It is for connection and learning style. It is essential for long term results.

Fast answers

Do I need to pay

Approved services through the Regional Center are funded by the state. Families do not pay for approved services.

Can I change providers

Yes. You can request a change with your Service Coordinator. Your goals and services continue with the new provider.

How do I start

Write a short message to your coordinator that lists your goals and the program you want to try. We can help you create that message and track the request.
